Terms of service

These are the rules for using Chalkalong. By using it, you agree to them. We’ve tried to keep them short and clear.

Who can use Chalkalong

You must be 13 or older (16 or older in the EU, EEA or UK, unless a parent or guardian agrees). If you’re under 18, please read these terms with a parent or guardian. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data.

Your account

You sign in with Google. Keep your account to yourself and don’t share it. You’re responsible for what happens on your account, so tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else is using it.

Be decent

When you use Chalkalong, don’t:

  • upload anything illegal, hateful, sexual, violent, or that bullies or harms someone;
  • upload other people’s private information, or photos of people without their permission;
  • try to hack, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, or get around usage limits;
  • try to trick the tutor into producing harmful content;
  • resell or share access, or use Chalkalong to build a competing product.

Academic integrity

Chalkalong is built to help you understand math, not to do your work for you. Follow your school’s rules. Don’t use it during tests or exams, or to hand in work that isn’t your own when that isn’t allowed. That’s on you, not us.

AI can make mistakes

The tutor is an AI. It is usually right, but it can be wrong, sometimes confidently. Check important answers, and tell us when something looks off using the “Report a mistake” button in the lesson or by email. Chalkalong is a learning tool, not professional, academic or exam advice, and it doesn’t replace your teacher.

Your content

What you upload and draw is yours. You give us a limited permission to store, process and show it to you (and to send it to our providers, as the privacy policy explains) only so we can run Chalkalong for you. That permission ends when you delete it or your account, except for copies we must keep by law. Don’t upload anything you don’t have the right to share.

Chalkalong itself (the app, the tutor, the design and the brand) belongs to us. Lessons the tutor makes for you are yours to use for your own learning.

The free trial

Each account can try Chalkalong free once: 1 free lesson, with 3 voice minutes and 15 typed messages. Beta members (the first 200 accounts, created by Oct 31) get 3 free lessons, with 10 voice minutes and 100 typed messages instead, and keep it. Neither refills, and the demo is unlimited. To keep it fair for everyone, we may limit use that looks automated or excessive. Because it’s a beta, features may change, break or be removed, and the service may sometimes be down.

Paid plans (when they launch)

We plan to offer a paid Pro plan, billed monthly or yearly. When it launches, these rules will apply:

  • We’ll show you the price clearly before you pay. Payments are handled by Stripe.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
  • You can cancel anytime in your account settings. You keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
  • “Unlimited” lessons are subject to fair use, so one account can’t use the service like a hundred.
  • If we change the price, we’ll tell you before your next renewal so you can cancel first.
  • Refunds follow the law where you live, including any right to cancel within 14 days in the EU and UK.

Ending things

You can stop using Chalkalong and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put others at risk. If we ever shut Chalkalong down, we’ll give you notice and a chance to download your boards where we can.

Disclaimers and limits

Chalkalong is provided “as is” and “as available”. We don’t promise it will always be right, available or free of bugs. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses (like a lower grade or lost time), and our total responsibility to you is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the last 12 months or US$50. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you; nothing here takes away rights you have by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction to be confirmed]. If you live in the EU or UK, you also keep the protection of your local consumer laws and can bring a claim where you live.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We’ll change the date at the top, and tell you in advance if the change is important. If you keep using Chalkalong after that, you agree to the new terms. Last updated 2026-10-04.
